The small chapel was built as a branch of the church in Laufen in the 15th century and stands wonderfully at the foot of a vineyard slope. The little tower with its octagonal helmet, the bell and the beautiful clock, is pushed entirely to the east gable. It is supported inside by two visible wooden pillars. The room, with a barrel-vaulted wooden ceiling, offers space for about 40 people.

Sankt Nikolaus is especially worth a detour for the magnificent view: directly below lies the monastery island of Rheinau, and the view also sweeps over the Rhine, which flows here in a loop, and the adjacent vineyards.
