The newest museum in the town of Bansko is located on the same site where the birthplace of the first writer of the Bulgarian National Revival was located. Visitors here can learn more about Paisiy Hilendarski and his great achievements. They can feel the atmosphere of the place where he worked. The building is a replica of the cell in the Hilendar Monastery (Mount Athos, Greece), where the discoverer of the Bulgarian Renaissance began writing the first Bulgarian history, known as Slavic-Bulgarian History. Like the Chapel of St. Ivan Rilski, it is part of the monastery where the monk spent much of his time in prayer.
