Unfortunately, the Beaver Trail has been closed since April 2025 due to landslides. Be sure to check if it's accessible again! Apparently it's accessible again - thanks to the Public Works Department.

It's a short, easy hike, you don't need hiking boots or anything like that - you can do it with sneakers!

Absolutely beautiful for a short hike, but for a longer distance the hiking trail is rather tedious to walk and takes a lot of strength.

The WWF beaver trail offers everything worth knowing about the largest rodent in Europe on 10 boards. The path, which mainly leads as a more or less narrow path along the Rhine (not suitable for prams/wheelchairs), begins at the jetty in Tössegg and ends in Rüdlingen. Even if the boards, which also contain interactive elements, are mainly designed for children, everyone else will also get their money's worth. If only because the path leads beautifully along the water and thus always offers great views of the Rhine and the opposite bank. The path itself is well shaded as it runs alongside the forest. However, if you are planning a longer tour, you should note that there is hardly any shade from Rüdlingen (towards Thurspitz). Especially there, a hike in extreme heat can be quite exhausting. A detour to the Thurauen Nature Center (near Rüdlingen at the end of the beaver nature trail) can be a worthwhile detour.
