Ciobănesc Românesc de Bucovina means Romanian Shepherd Dog of Bukovina. According to the description in the breed standard, it was originally a natural breed from the Carpathians in Romania. The region of Bukovina, from which the breed name is derived, was particularly important for breeding. The Ciobănesc Românesc de Bucovina was bred there as a livestock guardian and watchdog. The breed was recognized by the FCI in 2018 with the standard number 357. The Ciobănesc Românesc de Bucovina is described as balanced, calm and loyal. As a livestock guardian, it is brave and efficient at fending off predators such as bears, wolves or lynx. It is suspicious of strangers. It is a good watchdog that guards the house and yard independently at night. It is only suitable to a very limited extent as a family dog.

The Dragomirna Monastery (Romanian: Mănăstirea Dragomirna) is located in Romania, around 15 kilometers north of the city of Suceava, near the village of Dragomirna. It was founded by the Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bishop Anastasie Crimca, who had the current buildings built between 1602 and 1609 after a first small complex.[1] The monastery is surrounded by 10 m high and 2 m wide walls, which were built to protect against conquerors and were completed in 1627. The monastery's church, which is 42 m high, 35 m long and 9.50 m wide, features Romanesque, Gothic and orientalizing style elements. Its interior reveals wall paintings in a miniature style, which can be traced back to the influence of the founder Crimca, who was also a miniature painter. The associated museum exhibits religious objects, precious items, valuable manuscripts, icons and precious miniatures from the monastery's collection.
