The Union Brewery in Ljubljana dates back to 1864, and the Brewery Museum, established on site in 1986, is run with the support of its employees. It illustrates the history of beer in Slovenia, providing a detailed look at Slovenian production and consumption practices. This presentation, which also includes the living conditions and interests of the brewery workers, has earned the museum several awards. The exhibits come from the Institute of Hop Breeding and Brewing of the former Yugoslavia. Many were also donated to the museum by innkeepers or brewery employees. Visitors can follow the various stages of beer brewing. They experience the malthouse, the mashing process, the cellar vaults where the beer is aged and stored, the filtration and bottling plant, and the barrel storage facility. Representations of traditional Slovenian pubs with original furnishings, bottles with historical labels, and promotional materials are also on display. https://www.union-experience.si/en/discover-union-experience
