July 3, 2025, S/S Nalle Museum Ship, Oskarshamn

In 1923, the icebreaker tug S/S Nalle was built in the Oskarshamn Mechanical Workshop for the Port of Oskarshamn. The ship was equipped with a 250 hp compound steam engine and served in Oskarshamn until 1965. In 2000, the S/S Nalle Association in Oskarshamn acquired the ship to serve as a museum ship in Oskarshamn and preserve the memory of the time when steam ruled the seas. Beside the Boat and Machinery Museum in the inner part of the Port of Oskarshamn, the tug S/S Nalle is moored. The former harbor tug, bearing the K marking, including the 250 hp steam engine and all interior fittings, was built in 1923 in the Oskarshamn Mechanical Workshop. The Nalle was originally coal-fired, but in the 1960s, coal was replaced by oil. From her launch until 1965, the NALLE served as a harbor tug in Oskarshamn. During the winter months, icebreaking was her primary task. The active operation of the shipyard in Oskarshamn also required the NALLE's participation. During World War II, the NALLE was loaned to the Navy in Karlskrona and was armed with an anti-aircraft gun on the foredeck.

Here you can walk along a small causeway, about 500 meters long, and at the end you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the water. You can see a small lighthouse. On the other side, you can see the small harbor with its boats.

Behind the plants are the community's preschool children, who selected seeds, sowed them, and cared for their plants this spring. In addition to learning how to grow them, the goal is to talk about and understand the invaluable role bees and insects play in nature and our world.

The nature-loving Dutch artist duo TelmoMiel has painted walls in various locations across Sweden over the years. One of their primary concerns is the unique Swedish right of public access, depicted here by a man gathering wood for a campfire.
