This bridge was erected in honor of Viktor Klein. An officer from Gniebing who was expelled in 1938 and met his end in Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1944. Tradition also seems to be to attach a small padlock to the railing here. A beautiful way to remember and show respect, in my opinion.
