The name "Malau" is the abbreviation for "Picturesque Au" which seems to be a very fitting description for this place.

A wooden lounger, a bench, a wayside cross, lined by two birch trees at the edge of the forest. Plus a view of the Hegau and, if the visibility is good, all the way to the Alps. Within sight is a shelter for emergencies with picnic tables and a fireplace. No noise from through roads. In my opinion, this is a wonderful place!

Engen, Tengen, flower field are the most beautiful cities in the world ... and Blumenfeld is (was) the smallest of them. There is a café in the castle, the alternative is the Bibermühle below, with a view of the waterfall.

If you want to drink a coffee and maybe enjoy a piece of cake 🍰, you shouldn't shy away from the short descent. The waterfall is worth taking a look at, two black swans swim in the pond and a signpost invites you to take a circular route (approx. 1 hour) with an animal enclosure.

The house is lovingly restored by its owner. We were lucky and met him. He likes to show the historical monument.
