Nice resting spot on the Zuckerbahnradweg cycle path

A single-nave church dating from 1690-1696. Chancel tower with a slate-covered spire. Inside, a pulpit altar and a kneeling, suspended baptismal angel.

I did exactly what Dirk described. I took the train from Jena to Camburg and then cycled along the Zuckerbahn cycle path. After a slight climb, the path becomes very flat and has many crossings over more or less busy roads. Of course, there are also many bridges. Orientation was sometimes difficult, but my intuition helped. Zeitz is very beautiful, but finding the Elster cycle path to Gera from there isn't easy. Still doable. 😁 Highly recommended.

There are some good, covered rest areas along the Zuckerbahn cycle path, and good asphalt. You're away from traffic. Otherwise, it's a typical railway cycle path…straight ahead and no view. Trees and bushes on the left and right. Practical. 😅

The Zuckerbahn cycle path is a typical railway cycle path: straight ahead, nice asphalt, with trees and bushes on both sides. There's not much to see, and riding straight ahead gets a bit boring after a while. So, it's more of a functional cycle path, and you're away from traffic. It's worth mentioning that there are several good, covered rest areas along the path.
