The oldest building in Lüdersen is the Sankt-Marien-Kirche (St. Mary's Church), which is a listed monument. Initially, the square, mighty defensive tower also served to protect the villagers. It was built during the Salian dynasty, although it is not precisely documented whether in 1060 or only after 1100. The older part of the nave was built around 1250 and reached its final size in 1497 with the 8-meter-long choir and pre-choir. In 1802, the church received its roof in its current form. After major renovations in 1872, not only was a new entrance built through the tower, but the church also received, among other things, a new pulpit and an organ.
