Our cemeteries are gardens of life. In the park areas, various deciduous and coniferous trees grow, high-quality plantings, right in the middle of Schwarzenbek and close to the citizens. They are oases of peace that invite contemplation and recreation. Hardly any cemetery visitor is left unmoved by the fascinating spectacle of the seasons. A walk through the cemeteries is closely linked to the various burial fields, e.g. Urn Garden, Silent Corner, Birch Grove, Perennial Garden, Rhododendron Grove, and Sun Field. People who are often in a comparable situation meet in the cemeteries. These encounters can provide comfort to the bereaved and broaden their future path in life. Therefore, it is important to preserve our two cemeteries and to adapt them to the circumstances again and again. The "New Cemetery" on Möllner Straße (first laid out in 1893) offers people from the North-East area, Mühlenkamp, and also all other citizens, a place to bury their deceased. In the chapel, which was taken over from the church community by the local funeral home Möller in 2018 and extensively renovated on their behalf, solemn funeral services are held again and relatives can say goodbye on site. After the redesign of the chapel, other events such as church services, concerts, and readings are also possible and planned. Both cemeteries are open for burials of all denominations and people of diverse spirituality.
