A nice corner to take a break. It looks a bit like the Lüneburg Heath. A nice corner.

The Jenny windmill is the landmark of Achtrup. It was built in 1889 and is a basement Dutch type with sailing wings and a compass rose. The mill and the miller's house are protected monuments. The Kinderhaus zur Mühle, a facility for children and young people, is located on the edge of the village, directly on the Mühlenberg and is housed in the Müllerhaus.

SH Netz AG had professional sprayers design the power boxes with local motifs. Here in Risum-Lindholm it's a tractor on the goat meadow.

The mill - "Jenny" - is the landmark of Achtrup. The windmill of the Kellerholländer* type with sails and compass rose was built in 1889 and, with the founding of "Das Kinderhaus zur Mühle" in 1984, converted to use as an apartment and children's home. The property on which the mill is located has a total area of 8 hectares and offers an adventure playground, soccer field, horse riding center and gardens for the children. In addition, three ponds are created as different biotopes. The mill and miller's house are listed monuments. *Basement Dutchman Is a mill where you could drive a wagon or tractor into the mill base on one side and out again on the other side. In the middle of the passage, the mill cellar, the flour or grain sacks were loaded and unloaded using the hoist integrated into the mill. _________ *IMPORTANT: Information is summarized by me from various sources and passed on here.
