Here alternate green covered valleys and sandy hills. In summer, many small funnels fall on the sand. These come from the predatory ant-lions, which lurk in their prey. Later in the year, they turn into beautiful ant-maids.

From the crossing you can enjoy the wide view over the Miethsluch. To the west of this, heaths and sand-dried lawns join. The LIFE project "Sandrasen" of the Naturschutzfonds Brandenburg is active here. All the pines were taken from the heathland except for a few specimens. Then excavators carried off the topsoil and filled it with a deep ditch. On the sandy, sun-drenched sandy areas now dry specialists can frolic. After filling the ditch, the water also returned to the lynx. With the water came numerous animal and plant species, such as the Great Moss (Leucorrhinia pectoralis) and the Mother of Pearl Butterfly (Boloria selene). More information is available on a board on site.
