One of the few cafés that's also open on Mondays! There's a small lunch menu (12-3 p.m.) with things like schnitzel or currywurst; otherwise, they serve coffee and cake. I passed the time waiting by paying an extra €5 to walk through the amazingly large garden (children under 12 would have been free). That seemed like a steep price at first, but the garden is beautiful, blooming, and buzzing with life. I was pretty impressed and thought it was definitely worth the entrance fee. There's a playground for the little ones, grandma and grandpa can easily navigate the paths with their walkers, and there are plenty of benches. There are also lots of carved animals to discover – really lovely, so I didn't mind the not-so-great cake 😁

@Christian: This bridge, too, can only be reached from the Elbe Lateral Canal's riverside paths via stairs, which is best avoided if you have heavy bikes. And there are several more bridges further south that can be easily crossed by leaving the riverside path in good time.
