From 1865, a settlement for Bohemian glassmakers who worked in the nearby glass factory was located at this very spot. According to tradition, these workers traditionally wore red stockings, which is why the settlement was nicknamed by the common people. In the course of lignite open-cast mining, the entire area of the settlement was completely buried.

The Krüger Mill was built in 1780 as a watermill. The mill also housed a bakery and a sawmill. In 1946, the bakery closed, and the sawmill was dismantled as war reparations. On June 30, 1959, the mill's history ended, and it was finally closed. It's a shame about this historic building. It's fallen into disrepair. Therefore, entry is strictly prohibited!
