Melaune Church is the church building in the Melaune district of the municipality of Vierkirchen. The first church in Melaune was built in the 16th century as a branch church of Meuselwitz and first documented in 1523. The original church burned down in 1765. Afterward, only the tower was initially rebuilt on the old foundations, with the entire new building being completed in 1845. In 1896, almost the entire interior of the church was renovated. The entire church was restored in 1994 and 1995. The facade and tower roof were renovated in 2020. The church features a neo-Gothic pulpit altar with tracery and marbled decoration, built in the mid-19th century. Behind the altar is an epitaph for Carl Gottlob von Nostitz, featuring a figure of the deceased in armor. The octagonal baptismal font features Renaissance forms. The organ was built in 1848.

Hidden away and somewhat secluded lies the moated castle, surrounded by Virginia creeper, which is said to be around 1,000 years old. The building looks like something out of a fairytale. At over 800 years old, Döbschütz Moated Castle is the oldest privately owned castle in Germany and is the ancestral home of the Debschitz noble family. Therefore, the grounds are fenced off. But that doesn't detract from the beauty of this seemingly enchanted place. Sylke Rößler and her partner Christian Niclas live together in one of the oldest buildings in Upper Lusatia. It has 650 square meters of living space and 24 rooms.
