Lutz
August 16, 2026, Schweinrich Village Church

The small rectangular church with a ship-wide, rectangular defensive tower was built at the end of the 15th century or rebuilt after destruction. This is at least suggested by the diffusely layered masonry of fieldstones and interspersed bricks. The windows were enlarged in the Baroque style. The tower has a flat pyramidal roof. The nave's gable roof is hipped at the east end. The straight east end shows no ornamentation. A pointed arch portal, heightened by a blind arcade, was added to the south side. The west portal has a stepped surround and its depth indicates the thickness of the tower masonry. The interior has a flat ceiling. The altarpiece with an architectural structure and the pulpit with a staircase and sounding board show late Renaissance style elements. The congregation sits on simple wooden benches installed later. A winter church has been set up under the west gallery. On the gallery stands an organ with a simple, three-part prospect.

Modern, chic cafe in a beautifully renovated building with a cozy terrace/winter garden overlooking the greenery, delicious homemade cakes – like grandma used to make, only better (spelt instead of wheat, gelatin-free, reduced sugar), countless coffee varieties and the finest tea
