A hotspot for exhausted cyclists (and other species) who've spent hours cycling through the beautiful Altmark region. It's also a hotspot because it's the only one in the wider area.

It's nice to drive around and view from the outside. I don't know if it's possible to view the inside.

The Osterwohle Church was built in the 13th century as a plastered fieldstone church. It served as a village church and as the estate church of the noble von der Schulenburg family. In the first two decades of the 17th century, the church underwent extensive reconstruction. It was given a curved gable and, to the west, a round stair tower with a curved cap. The church was given a large, richly structured, slate-covered roof turret. The north portal features a carved wooden door in the Mannerist style. The interior was extensively renovated.

A memorial column commemorating the fallen soldiers of the wars of 1866 and 1871. It is located in the center of Ellenberg, near the fieldstone church (village church). With the German Unification Wars, Prussia pushed through the idea of a German nation state in the spirit of the Lesser German Solution. Following victories in the German-Danish War (1864), the Austro-Prussian War (1866), and the Franco-Prussian War (1870/71), the Prussian-dominated German Empire emerged.

The Ellenberg village church in the Ellenberg district of the municipality of Wallstawe, Saxony-Anhalt, is a late Gothic fieldstone church that is a listed monument. First mentioned as a chapel in 1291, it was later taken over by the Diesdorf Abbey and developed into an independent church building. The towerless building features a rectangular nave with a steep gable roof. The exterior walls are made of irregular fieldstone masonry, typical of the region's architectural style. The pointed arch windows with brick reveals are striking, although they are no longer in their original condition. The interior of the church is simply designed and features a flat beamed ceiling, creating a tranquil and impressive atmosphere. Despite its simple construction, the church is an important example of late Gothic architecture in the Altmark region.
