There is currently no bridge there. The replacement has been dismantled because it was needed elsewhere. The new construction is still ongoing. However, you can get across. The stream is not deep, you could wade through it even now in summer. Carrying or pushing the bike, whether that's possible everyone has to decide for themselves according to their condition.

The Hermeskeil station building was built in 1889 with the opening of the Hochwald Railway and served as an important transport hub for the region. The current building dates from 1905 and is architecturally similar to Simmern station. It was constructed in the style of the period, with solid walls and an attached goods shed. During World War II, the building suffered damage, including the destruction of the central platform and the underpass. It was rebuilt in the 1950s, incorporating some design elements from that era. After passenger service ceased in 1981, the building lost its original function but remained preserved as a testament to railway history. Today, the station is closed, but the Hermeskeil Steam Locomotive Museum is located on the site, exhibiting historic locomotives and railway technology. The station building itself recalls the heyday of the railway in the region and is an important relic from the era of rail transport in Hermeskeil.
