The Destel windmill was built at the beginning of the 19th century. It's an octagonal, shingled, half-timbered building with a rubble stone basement. The linden trees surrounding the mill are particularly notable.

Schwarzwälderkirschtorte, gooseberry meringue or perhaps a covered cheesecake: What are you in the mood for? The tastiest cakes far and wide can be found at the Hofcafé Tortenschmiede in Lembruch, a little off the beaten track from Dümmer See. Be sure to plan a stop on your bike tour around Dümmer See! The cozy farm café lives up to its name. Family Dannhus spoils you with homemade cake specialties and other sweet and savory treats. Enjoy your break in the cozy ambiance of the old 1869 farmstead, which has been lovingly restored over the years. From here you have a magnificent view of the vast landscape of the North German Plain, and when the weather is nice, the tastefully designed, large garden with various seating islands offers space for relaxation and lingering. Delicious cakes, at reasonable prices, with friendly service in the idyllic garden. You don't need more to enjoy a relaxed afternoon. I can gladly recommend it. Just try it. You won't regret it. https://www.osnabruecker-land.de/gastro/tortenschmiede
