It was built in 1891 with a miller's house and a bakery by the farmer Heinrich Lanwer from Strücklingen. The originally two-story gallery Dutchman was equipped from the beginning with two grinding gears and a peeling gear. In November 1972, the mill fell victim to a hurricane. Only a stone stump remained of the mill. After two years of construction, the gallery Dutchman shone again in new splendor in 2001.

The Fehn and Shipping Museum in Westrhauderfehn is a museum dedicated to the history of the Fehn culture, regional shipbuilding and shipping of what was once East Frisia's most important inland port. The museum, based in the listed "Villa Graepel", is a member of the East Frisia Museum Association. It is run by the Heimatverein Overledingerland e. V. The Heimatverein has rebuilt a smithy over 100 years old in front of the museum.[1] The Tjalk "Twee Gebroeders" is located in the canal directly in front of the house.
