(October 2025) The geyser is supposed to erupt only every two hours, and then only for about seven to 15 minutes. It isn't supposed to erupt in winter or at night for safety reasons. (I wonder, though, to what extent nature itself is still at work here, and how humans are intervening?) Tickets are only available through the museum in Andernach, including a museum visit and a boat trip. (As of October 2025: €20) Duration of the expedition (to/from the boat) is approximately 90 minutes. You should also allow time for information at the museum. Unfortunately, a spontaneous visit to the geyser with the ticket booth on site is not possible. But you don't know when the geyser will erupt. However, they do know roughly when the museum will erupt, and the expeditions are scheduled accordingly. The natural riverside path in Andernach, past the geyser access path, is blocked by two thick tree trunks. It's still okay for pedestrians, but it's difficult to lift a bike over it. So it's better to follow the designated main bike path.
