The Evangelical Church of Birnbach in the Altenkirchen district of Rhineland-Palatinate is one of the oldest Romanesque churches in the Westerwald. The first documented mention dates back to 1131. (Wikipedia) Very beautiful old church, which is also beautifully situated.

I came to the springs via the forest and bee trail. I was amazed at how much this little trail has to offer.

The cycle path along the B8 is great and very easy to ride in its current condition (March 2024). But on the descent, shortly before Hasselbach at the latest, you have the annoying problem that you have to cross the B8 again. It is very unfortunate that the cycle path could not be extended into the town.
