Shortly thereafter, we reach the Postplatz with charming historic buildings from the 19th century. Let's look at the post office, the regional court, the Palais Victoria, and the Muschelminna fountain. The Frauenkirche is also located here. It is open, let's go inside. The style is now completely different from the cathedral visited at the beginning; the Frauenkirche is built in the Gothic architectural style, with the foundation stone laid in 1459. Striking is the net rib vault with the decorated keystones. During the restoration in the choir, a wall painting from 1570 was uncovered next to some epitaphs. There is currently an exhibition here about Jakob Böhme, who was the first to write philosophical texts in the German language. Back outside, we see the Dicken Turm, part of the former city fortifications, with the historic city coat of arms and walk past the Annenkapelle. https://youtu.be/eU7pe2jPE-Q

A superb and wonderfully developed cycle path from Löbau to Cunnewalde. It winds along fields and through charming, cozy villages. What I found particularly positive was the wide variety of rest areas along the route, ranging from simple benches to rest stops and lovely little huts. I highly recommend this route.

The Wendish Tower, or Serbska wěža in Sorbian, is part of Bautzen's medieval city fortifications. It is located on the northeastern edge of the old town and is now structurally connected to Gottfried Semper's Old Barracks (Stara kaserna). For centuries, the Via Regia ran through the adjacent Wendish Gate, which no longer exists. See: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wendischer_Turm

Church of Our Lady in Görlitz. Information: A three-aisled hall church in the Late Gothic style. As early as the mid-14th century, a church—the Church of Our Lady—stood outside the city walls on the path to the Frauentor (Women's Gate). Until 1870, the church appears only rarely in the city's history. It was only with the expansion of the city towards the train station that the church gained in importance. Between 1869 and 1871, it was renovated and subsequently enjoyed a larger influx of worshippers every Sunday.
