Back at the museum entrance, we enter the wine cellar. The beautiful wall and ceiling paintings surprise us here. Built as a vault, the wooden door is one of the oldest in the castle. If we come across the legend of the faithful wife of Kriebstein, Knight Dietrich von Staupitz conquered the castle in 1415. When it was subsequently besieged, his wife obtained permission for the women to take the most precious things they could carry out of the castle. So the next morning, they carried their men out on their backs. A beautiful story. https://youtube.com/shorts/t_bkRWIvjvc https://youtu.be/x8Nb6zhb3iY
