There is no reliable information about the life of Saint Arsacius or Arsatius. According to legend, he was Bishop of Milan and possibly a martyr or confessor. His lifetime is dated around 400 or to the 6th century. His relics were transferred from Rome to the Ilmmünster Monastery in 766, where his veneration grew and the Church of St. Arsatius is dedicated to him to this day. In 1495, they were transferred to Munich, but in 1846, they were returned to Ilmmünster. His feast day is November 12th.
