Old Town Magazine: After the war, Karl Planeth volunteered to clear rubble, design, and maintain the area north and east of St. Peter's Church, especially the path below the city wall between Slüterstraße and Bagehl. For several years, the Association for the Promotion of the Eastern Old Town, together with the family members, has fought to have the newly constructed path named "Karl-Planeth-Weg." On November 5, 2010, the time finally came. The path along the city wall was given its name, "Karl-Planeth-Weg." At the same time, two memorial plaques were unveiled below the Slüter Monument and above the Gerberbruch. These explain who Karl Planeth was and why the path was named after him.
