The old oak tree in Ramsthal, located on the path to Haskenstein, fell in January 2011. A giant tree, whose circumference was measured at 5.02 meters in 2008, now lies on the ground. An examination of the root system reveals that a fungus was likely at work, weakening the tree. The oak was approximately 350 years old and was the oldest tree in the municipality.
