The Curau Church is the church in the village of Curau - a district of the municipality of Stockelsdorf - in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein. It is located in the middle of the village, surrounded by the (former) Kirchanger. It is one of the two churches in the Stockelsdorf parish and is used today by the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Curau for services. It is a single-nave hall church made of red brick, approx. 35 m long and approx. 15 m wide. On the sides of the nave, the walls are made of field stones up to a height of about 1.5 meters. The nave has a white classical portal on the south side and four large window arches on each side. This is followed by the angular apse with five windows. The nave and the apse are covered by a two-part gable roof covered with red roof tiles. On the south and north sides of the nave there are smaller additions (sacristies), of which the northern one is more recent. The church has a square tower which towers above the roof of the nave and which has a cornice in the middle and two sound openings above each. The tower is closed off by a two-part, copper-covered tower dome, which is also square. There is a door to the west of the tower. In the (ornamental) triangular gable above the classical portal is a marble plaque with the inscription Lord, I love the place of your house and the place where your honor lives. from the 26th Psalm, 8th attached. The current church is a building from 1828 - and the third church on the site. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curauer_Kirche
