In front of Hof Siems in Riepsdorf, you will encounter the "Generationen‑Allee" made of Corten steel, four steel trees in different sizes. Through their staggering, they play with your perception and show how much perspective and distance can change the impact of a place.

The Church of St. Jürgen is a brick Gothic building in the parish village of Grube and was first mentioned in a document in 1232. According to legend, its foundation dates back to King Waldemar II, who held the church patronage until 1864. The oldest sections of the building date from the early 13th century, while the majority of the current building was constructed around 1460. Today, the entire complex, including the churchyard, fieldstone wall, and linden tree circle, is a listed monument. The late Gothic altarpiece from a Lübeck workshop, as well as the baptismal font and baptismal angel from the Baroque period, are considered important furnishings of the church.

A "regular guest" stands on the meadow at Dunker'schen Platz in Grube - the "farm worker" who helped the landowners to their wealth. Dunker'sche Platz was magnificently developed in the 18th century. Until the end of 1840, the bailiff of the then royal office in Cismar resided here, who was entitled to around 20 tons of land in addition to the official residence. According to old custom, he received six fathoms of firewood and six cartons of peat from his subjects in addition to his salary.

Avenues used to be the direct connection between farmers and customers. Today the two rarely see each other. The four rusty steel trees in Riepsdorf show a new way to the farm at Hauptstraße 31 - and invite you to dialogue with farmer Carsten Siems. The "Generationen-Allee" was created by the Lübeck sculptor Winni Schaak. The slight inclination of the sculptures symbolizes the burden that every generation of farmers has to bear - the adversities of nature, the demands of society and industry. The different sizes represent the generations that do their best ...

The church has been completely renovated in stages. They probably forgot to ring the bell for half an hour. The bell is creepy to hear compared to other churches. I would like to see the illuminated church once, at least the spotlights were very large.
