[TO-BE INFO:] Schrevenborn - History of a Manor Did you know that...? ...Heikendorf was first mentioned in 1233 – likely founded as the village of the knight Heike – and the village of Schrevenborn in 1280. These two villages, along with others, formed the noble estate of Schrevenborn. The estate belonged to the parish of Schönkirchen. ...the "noble estate" of Schrevenborn, under the squire Henneke Swin, comprised Alt- and Neuheikendorf, as well as Muxall and Schrevendorf, from 1463 onwards. From 1471, the holdings were reduced to Alt- and Neuheikendorf, which constituted the final boundaries until the 19th century. ...in 1803, the estate consisted of the Schrevenborn farmstead, Altheikendorf, Neuheikendorf, and Möltenort. The 694 inhabitants were divided into 131 families. ...with the Prussian reform of 1867, the administrative authorities dissolved and the villages became independent, self-governing rural communities. ...At the end of the 19th century, the Schrevenborn estate sold a large portion of its land as Schrevenborn GmbH, from which the district of Kitzeberg subsequently emerged.

Schrevenborn Manor in the Probstei region was an agricultural center for local aristocratic families; today it is privately owned and therefore not open to the public. A particularly charming feature to passersby is the winding avenue of oak trees. Also striking is the wide moat that completely surrounds the manor and must have once carried water.

The Lehmkamp path leads east from Gut Schrevenborn. Here, along this almost 400-meter-long paved avenue, stand enormous oak trees, some several centuries old; these, as well as the wide, unobstructed view across the fields, are well worth seeing.

On the edge of the Schüttbremer forest, there is a path that is particularly sunny due to its southern orientation. The supply path, despite its width, appears very natural and secluded, which is particularly pleasant during the transitional seasons and on sunny winter days.

Birch trees are the first pioneer trees in the moor: they are the first to colonize the damp areas and prepare the soil for other plants. Here they stand like a silent vanguard in the moorland landscape.
