The bridge south of the castle will be repaired again in 2023. It is the most impressive and from it you can enjoy a view of the large park.

The fantastic manor house is empty! Signs prohibit entry without authorization: “Private property – entry prohibited”. Salzau Castle is actually a manor house, a knight's seat. In more recent times it was a festival venue and refugee hostel. Private investors repeatedly acquired the castle and went bankrupt as a result. Construction is going on there today and what it will be like in the future cannot currently be researched. In November 2022 you could read in the newspaper that the manor house would gradually be converted into a hotel by private investors.
