Halfway between Embach and Maria Elend lies the "Kalvarienberg". This refers to a depiction of the crucifixion of Jesus on a rock located outside the village. The path from the parish church is about the same length as the Stations of the Cross in Jerusalem from the house of Pilate to "Calvary", the rock of Golgotha in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where Jesus' cross stood. Those who pray the Stations of the Cross here are, so to speak, walking the same Stations of the Cross as the pilgrims in Jerusalem. The Embacher Kalvarienberg was donated by Anton Graf, innkeeper in Embach, in 1774. The traditional tin figures of the crucifixion group were repainted in 2008 by Friedrich Jünger. The Kalvarienberg chapel, built in 1829, contains a folk depiction of Christ at the Pillar and an explanation of the chapel from the time of its construction.
