The view is somewhat eerie, though. The building itself is in good condition, the shutters are half-down. At first glance, you'd think there was life inside... Then I read that it's "abandoned"... That's quite something...

The war memorial, located just outside the village near the cemetery, is surprising in its choice of motif: The central figure at the center of the complex is Christ, but he is not depicted as the crucified Christ with his arms outstretched; instead, he has his arms crossed and points to his heart. This gesture is likely intended as an outward sign of his divine mercy, which he will also extend to the fallen soldiers of the two world wars, in whose memory the memorial was erected.

The descent from the Hirschenstein is lined with beautiful paths, but it is steep in parts and is quite tough on the joints. That is why this rest area should be mentioned here separately. We also took a break here.

A nice place to rest. With the same prospect. Here we took a break on the way to the Hirschenstein transmitter. Right next to it there are two information boards about the mushrooms in the area.

This cross can be found at the end of Althodis. Stands up on a hill after the playground. A nice photo point with a great view.

The war memorial at the Althodis cemetery. I stopped by on my tour to the station. Is right next to the path. Found worth mentioning :)
