Good idea to meet here informally. However, it would be nice if there were a little more information beforehand.

Actually, no new highlights would have been needed. The bridge was simply renovated from the ground up and the road surface renewed.

The old railway bridge has deteriorated in recent years. In 2025-2026, it was replaced by a modern, wide cycle and pedestrian bridge with benches, resting on the old bridge piers of the former railway bridge.

You can see the Lahn river from a thousand places, but I can't explain why it's supposed to be particularly beautiful here.

The three-arched, 15-meter-long railway bridge in Lollar spans the lower reaches of the Lumda River and also serves as a road underpass for the railway line. It was built for the Main-Weser Railway around 1850. In 1878, the bridge was widened to accommodate the tracks of the Kanonenbahn (cannon railway) between the Buderus sites in Lollar and Wetzlar. The bridge has been listed as a historical monument due to its significance for transport and technology history, as well as for historical reasons. https://industriekultur-mittelhessen.de/ort/lollar-eisenbahnbruecke/

Nice surface for relaxed driving with information boards for those interested... otherwise pedestrians and oncoming traffic are not optimally predictable.
