There is only one entrance and one exit. This is in addition to Dieter's suggestion. ... The most beautiful depiction of the park's history, in my opinion, can be found on the overview map at the entrance: "On June 30, 1809, C. W. Jamm was born in Lahr, the son of a locksmith. After training as a textile merchant, he went to Havana, Cuba, where he had already founded his own trading company by 1847. After extremely successful years, he sold the company to a partner and moved back to Europe, where he met and fell in love with Amélie de Cantillon in Paris. In Lahr, he acquired an old linden orchard and, around 1860, commissioned French architects to build a handsome villa and create a spacious garden with a grotto, pond, pavilion, greenhouse, and exotic trees. He repeatedly traveled to Paris to try to persuade the courted Amélie to marry him in Lahr. Despite all his efforts, this wish remained unfulfilled. On May 7, 1875, he died alone at the age of 66. In his will, he..." He appointed the citizens of Lahr as the main heir to his large fortune. At the same time, he stipulated the expansion and maintenance of the park as well as the construction of the Christ Church next to the city park, in which his crypt is also located.

The Old Town Hall stands centrally in the old town of Lahr in the Black Forest, in the immediate vicinity of the Judgment Square. Originally, the building was erected in the late 15th century as a typical town hall with an open ground floor. A major renovation took place in 1608: The open ground floor was partially walled up, an external staircase with a late Gothic tracery balustrade was added, and a volute gable was constructed.
