The Kalmit Haus offers excellent views of the Haardt mountain range and the Rhine plain. You can even make out Ludwigshafen and Mannheim, and the Palatinate towns of Landau and Neustadt lie at your feet. Karlsruhe and the Rhine are also clearly visible. Recommendation: Ascend in the first half of the week, when traffic is less. The Ludwigshafener Hütte (Ludwigshafen Hut) opens only on Wednesdays. After the descent to St. Martin, you can enjoy a refreshing drink in the winery's taverns.
