"Dülmen is the seat of the Dülmen District Court, which is responsible for the city of Dülmen in the district of Coesfeld. Around 47,000 people live in the 184 km² judicial district. History: The Dülmen Court Commission of the Coesfeld District Court has existed in Dülmen since 1849. In 1879, higher regional, regional and district courts were established across the empire as part of the Reich Justice Act. The Royal Prussian District Court of Dülmen was established with effect from October 1, 1879 as one of 22 district courts in the district of the Münster Regional Court in the district of the Hamm Higher Regional Court. The seat of the court was the city of Dülmen. Its judicial district included the Dülmen city district and the Buldern and Dülmen offices. In 1880, there was a judge at the court. The district court was thus a small district court in the regional court district. Building: From From 1879 to 1897, the court was housed in the Dülmen town hall. In 1897, a two-story brick building with Renaissance and Baroque elements was built on Königswall. After the destruction in the Second World War, a new building was built on the same site in 1951 in a simpler form (without a gable, simplified roof).
