Built in the mid-14th century, Attendorn's town hall was rebuilt several times in the 18th and 19th centuries. Between 1962 and 1964, the town hall was restored to its original form. The eaves-fronted building was constructed of quarry stone and is particularly notable for its stepped gables. The ground floor formerly served as a merchant's hall; today, the entire building houses the South Sauerland Museum. The two-part tracery windows on the upper floor were designed after the choir windows in the parish church. The translucent light flooded the town's former council and dance hall. To this day, the building is considered one of the most important town hall buildings in Westphalia and is also the southernmost example of this building type. https://www.baukunst-nrw.de/objekte/Rathaus-Attendorn--947.htm
