The Old Guardhouse on Paradeplatz is one of the most striking historical buildings in Forchheim's old town. Built around 1800, it originally served as a guardhouse. At that time, Paradeplatz was a central military and ceremonial site where soldiers drilled, the changing of the guard took place, and official events were staged.
