The outlet lock No. 71 is a publicly accessible structure from the years 1688–1691. The lock directed the Queich through the main wall of the Landau fortress. In front of the lock was a small harbor, which was part of the military infrastructure. Iron grates could be lowered to prevent the entry of enemies – hence the numbering [No. 71] on the fortress plan. The adjacent ramp served as a watering place for horses from the nearby cavalry barracks.

The Martin Luther monument on Stiftsplatz in Landau is a monument that commemorates the reformer. It is a bronze sculpture by the sculptor Martin Mayer. In contrast to many heroic depictions of Luther, this statue shows Luther in a rather thoughtful, almost doubting pose, making it a special work of art in the city.
