July 13, 2024, Exercise Trail

You can use this stretch of trail as its own short run, or add it on to create a loop with the nature trail.

This trail is well-maintained and has a lot of shade, so it's a great choice for running. There are some muddy spots, but they're usually bridged by boardwalks. If you're feeling peppy, you can turn this into a loop by running the shoulder of an access road and from there, on to the park exercise trail.

The paths in Lake Louisa State Park are a mixture of sand, packed dirt, and grass. They are mostly wide and prove to be great cycling trails if you air down and have wide enough tires. A fat tire bike would really work best here. It should also be noted that without a pass, you will have to pay $5 per vehicle to enter the property and $2 to bike, run, or walk into the park.
