The Fairy Tale Fountain in Heide is a charming public artwork created in 1956 by the artist Willi Schwinghammer. Located in the Neue Anlage in Heide, it depicts a frog spouting water surrounded by three kneeling young women. These women are depicted as if they had just taken a bath, each with a unique pose and expression. The woman standing opposite the frog is fixing her hair. The women's poses are similar, but each is individually designed. Unfortunately, the original sculptures were almost completely destroyed by vandalism in 2008, but were carefully reconstructed in 2010 by sculptor and ceramic artist Wolfgang Obertreis.
