Created in the early 1970s from rubble that accumulated during the construction of the Südtangente. A steep path with a few rudimentary steps leads directly up. There are also more comfortable variants with winding paths. The area at the top is nicely designed. Unfortunately, the view is very limited by trees. Of course, there are also some wild/wood pear trees here, which are common in Knielingen and were not only the namesake for the hill but also gave the Knielingen residents the old nickname “Holzbiere” (wood pears).

Lake Knielinger See is supplied with freshwater from the Rhine harbor. The water then flows into the Alb via the Willichgraben. Since 2016, the Federbach stream has been diverted around the lake in a ditch because the lake was in danger of overflowing due to the highly nutrient-rich water of the Federbach stream.
