Jewish families have lived in Lindheim since the 14th century, and since the 17th century there has been a synagogue with a rabbi and a Jewish school. In the 19th century, between 50 and 80 Jewish people lived here. (Source: Elisabeth Johann: Our Jewish Neighbors) The aforementioned Protestant pastor Glaubrecht fueled the racial madness with anti-Semitic writings. The stumbling blocks show us where political anti-Semitism leads. The commitment to human rights is still desperately needed, especially with regard to minorities.

The "Lindheim Years of Terror" took place in the 17th century, as the Protestant pastor Otto Glaubrecht (pseudonym for Rudolf Oeser) describes this time of witch mania in his 1850 book. Citizens were imprisoned in the tower, which was part of the former city wall. Within 9 months, 20 innocent people were hanged or beheaded on the spot and then burned. The local carnival club is called "Lindheim Witches", which can be interpreted in all directions. Source: https://www.altenstadt.de/kultur-tourismus/ausflugsziele/lindheimer-hexenturm

Lindheim station is located along the "Stockheim-Frankfurt" railway line. The "Stockheim - Heldenbergen - Windheim" section, on which the station is located, was inaugurated on October 1, 1905. In addition to agricultural products, the Niddertalbahn, popularly known as "Stockheimer Lieschen", transported mining products from the basalt stone industry in the Vogelsberg. And what was then the railway line that guaranteed access to modernity is now the fiber optic cable that brings the Internet to "every milk can" through a company based in Altenstadt. Source for railway construction: "Connection to the wide world - The eventful development of the railway in Upper Hesse". Here is a quote: Railway stations "represent not only the railway as such, but also the respective location, which is (...) also reflected in architectural reminiscences of the village's own history, as in Lindheim, at whose station figures were installed in memory of the witch hunts in the town.
