Wonderful church with a great forecourt. In winter, the Christmas market is held here, in summer various city festivals, there is a book-sharing box and a fountain opposite, and the Bergischer Löwe (restaurant) is also right nearby. That already makes quite an impression here. :-)

The paper fountain in Bergisch Gladbach is also called the waffle iron by locals. The red stripes around it are meant to represent a watermill wheel, and the wavy lines represent the Strunde River, a reference to papermaking.

The three-wing building in the German Renaissance style was constructed from 1905 to 1906 under the direction of Ludwig Bopp, a representative of the Munich School. The central building, which houses the council chamber, was constructed of local dolomite limestone. It features a columned portal, two gables, and a high hipped roof with a viewing lantern. A wing in the Bergisch style with a half-timbered upper floor and a simple, southern German-influenced plastered building were added to the sides. This building is decorated with a sundial and a mural depicting a view of the city from around 1800.

This bronze sculpture "Bergische Bäuerin mit Schafen" was erected here on June 11, 1995. It not only beautifies our cityscape, but is also a lot of fun for children and teaches them about animals 👍🐑

The railway line from Bergisch Gladbach to Bensberg was opened on October 15, 1870; from Cologne, the railway reached Bergisch Gladbach on December 4, 1868. On September 29, 1965, the railway stopped passenger traffic between Gladbach and Bensberg, and in 1989, freight traffic. Reactivation as a freight line with transshipment in the Zinkhütte industrial estate ended in 2012. The last trip on the tracks was the diesel V60 locomotive, which came to Bergisch Gladbach in September 2019 with "Rheingold" wagons.
