Here, the GR 129 crosses the path of the GR 131, which begins in the old Zwin town of Damme and runs diagonally through the province of West Flanders to the Ypres Salient. Contrary to what the ominous name suggests, this forest domain is an earthly paradise for plants, animals and visitors! Together with the nearby Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld, this is the largest forest complex in West Flanders with a total of 540 hectares. Heathland, ponds, pine and spruce forests adorn the landscape. Various animals, from amphibians to birds and mammals, find their way to this green oasis. The Vagevuurbos and the Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld are part of the Bulskampveld landscape park. (Natuur&Bos)

This beautiful piece of nature reserve can be found in the provincial domain of Bulskampveld. The area reflects the historical landscape of the Brugse Zandstreek. You will mainly find heathland, a fen, grasslands and very beautiful avenues here and to connect everything. Walk along the boardwalks that lead you along the large fen, where dragonflies and damselflies dance above the water surface. Along the way you can encounter Galloway cattle that graze the area, and with a bit of luck you will spot a viviparous lizard, black woodpecker or tree pipit. The area is freely accessible all year round via the hiking trails. Boots or sturdy shoes are recommended, especially in wet weather. Let yourself be surprised by the natural beauty and tranquility of Heideveld-Bornebeek. (Brugse Ommeland)

Het Aanwijs, on Reigerlostraat in Beernem, has been designed as the largest reception gate for the Bulskampveld landscape park. The large and frequently used car park, originally constructed in the 1970s, has been given a new look, together with its surroundings. These are the most important elements of the redevelopment: A section of the car park has been transformed into a reception square: there are benches and picnic tables and there is space for meeting. In the new reception building, visitors will find toilets and information boards about the Bulskampveld landscape park. In order to make the square traffic-free, the Heirweg at the Aanwijs has been permanently closed to through traffic. In order to create the necessary space, the electricity cabin on the car park has been demolished. Fluvius built a new cabin further along Reigerlostraat. On the street side, Monja Duponcheel has applied a graffiti artwork on behalf of the province. The cycling and walking paths of the Bulskampveld junction network that connect to the reception car park and the bridleway have been rearranged for smoother and safer circulation. A small part of the car park has been transformed into a grass field that serves as an event zone. If the car park is full, the grass field can be used for parking. (Flemish Land Agency)
