Wikipedia: The water tower on Troelstralaan in Assen was built in 1959-1960, replacing the water tower on Rolderstraat (demolished in 1961). The building was designed by architect W. ter Braake, then head of construction and urban planning for the Assen Public Works Department. The location on Meester P.J. Troelstralaan was chosen for its central location. The tower is 34 meters tall and has 154 steps. The tower's water reservoir has a capacity of 550 m³. Since 1970, the tower has been under the responsibility of WMD Drinkwater. The water tower is no longer in use. The tower had a so-called 'open system,' which ensured a more even load on the drinking water treatment system. In 2007, the tower was renovated, with the mortar and concrete repaired and the roof replaced. The water tower was decommissioned due to leaks, among other things, and sold in 2021. Since 2022, the tower's interior has been renovated and refurbished. The tower has since been ready for luxurious overnight stays at height. https://watertoren-assen.nl/
