The Urban Oases in Ulft is a green artwork and innovative mini-city park that combines nature and technology to make the city cleaner, healthier, and more livable. A key feature is the large particulate filter, which purifies the air of both fine and ultrafine particles up to 600 meters away. The filter is based on a natural principle and operates energy-efficiently using solar and wind power. A follow-up version that can also capture nitrogen is being developed. Besides air purification, Urban Oases also focuses on CO₂ capture with special rock, sustainable energy generation using solar panels, wind, and even human power, and a smart database that measures and visualizes all performance. Green spaces with trees, flowers, and plants increase biodiversity, reduce heat stress, and provide the city with a natural breathing space. The entire project is designed as a meeting place, complete with benches, charging stations, and a playful lighting system that visualizes air quality in colors. In short: Urban Oases is a green urban oasis, a mix of art, technology and nature that shows how cities can become cleaner, more sustainable and more humane.

Here you can stand with one leg in the Netherlands and the other in Germany

History was made with this European project. The Bültenhaus was opened in 2009 and offers senior apartments on the German side, which are maintained by the Diakonie Johanneswerk, and there is a retirement home on the Dutch side. In the café, directly across the Hellweg, in the middle between the two facilities, people met for events and to exchange ideas. Unfortunately, the tavern (café) has been closed since Corona (2020) and has not reopened. Today: European everyday life instead of euphoria! The hoped-for meeting of seniors from both sides hardly takes place anymore. The different accounting systems are also a barrier. Conclusion: In order to live in a common Europe, everyone has to work on it.

"The tradition of the Emmerich Rhine port dates back to the middle of the 17th century: the first harbor basin was first mentioned in documents in 1640. Today, Rhein-Waal Terminal GmbH is part of Contargo trimodal network, the operator of the port. This shows that the trimodal location in Emmerich, with its immediate proximity to the Netherlands, fully meets the requirements of a globalized logistics economy. Due to its location on the Rhine, the BAB 3, which can be reached in just a few minutes, and the direct rail connection to the Oberhausen-Arnhem railway line, the Emmerich am Rhein location combines the most important modes of transport for logistics companies. These location advantages and the performance of RWT GmbH as a transshipment service provider are impressively documented by the establishment of the 80,000 m² central warehouse of Konica Minolta Deutschland GmbH in Emmerich am Rhein." https://wfg-kreis-kleve.de/de/kreis-kleve/port-emmerich
