Koningslaan in the Veluwezoom region is a historic, monumental beech avenue, laid out in the 17th century at the behest of Prince William II and later King-Stadtholder William III. It formed a perfectly straight connecting road between the Hof te Dieren (courtyard in Dieren) and the hunting lodge on the Ginkelse Heide, as part of a vast game park. This majestic avenue, which follows the rolling hills of the landscape, is a remnant of the "King's Roads" the princes constructed for their hunting parties and is now a beautiful walking path through the Onzalige Bossen (unsung forests).
